Worth Every Tear
Above and to the left are links to some of my favorite pieces, things I've written to commemorate certain events or family members. Each is a tribute to God, to His faithfulness and patient guidance throughout the course of my life. These are in essence little snippets, if you will, from the bigger book project; and as with Worth Every Tear, family members' names are fictitious to protect privacy.
"Choose Ye This Day" tells the story of a time our "Jacob" was held at gunpoint. This event was one in a series that precipitated our coming to terms with the truth of his drug problem. This article was published under the pen name of Faith Bigelow Walker, in an anthology called Women of Passions: Ordinary Women Serving an Extraordinary God (2008), put together by Heart of God International Ministries. All proceeds will go to missions.
"I am Somebody!" tells the story of a special date I had with my husband on a Valentine's Day back when the kids were just tots.
"If~ " is about our oldest daughter.
"No More Games" describes the pain fellow Christians can inflict on one another when we fall into a pattern of pretense.
"No Small Miracle" describes my wonder at the birth of "Jacob" and my prayers over the years for the miracle of his salvation.
"Seeds to Sow" was written in tribute to my mom after her death in 2000.
"Silent Partner" is a fond remembrance of my mom and a valuable lesson I learned from her about parenthood.
"Six" describes the happy homecoming of our son "Derek," after his having been estranged from us for six long years. This article was also published in Women of Passions, under the pen name of Faith Bigelow Walker.
Though I most enjoy writing memoir-type pieces, I have done some fiction writing as well. You can read my favorites on the Flirting with Fiction page of this site.
